Chatokkis are creatures that were created to protect the nature from harm. They are born from raindrops that fall in special ponds, where they crystalize and wait for the Annular Eclipse. In order for a Chatokki to be born, there is a ritual held once a year, on an Annular Eclipse where food has to be offered to the nature's goddess. Despite their symbiotic relationship with the nature Chatokkis generally live normal lives and preform everyday activities, just like humans. Their task is to produce new vegetation, harvest it and protect it while its growing. The most important role of Chatokkis is preparing Tea Potions which are made using their most treasured plants combined with Chatokki tears. These Tea Potions function as a prevention measure for Chatokkis to avoid turning into plants themselves. Consequently it is apparent that their tears, aren't ordinary tears. When Chatokkis cry, their tears crystalize and are then stored deep underground.

I have always dreamt of creating new worlds and letting others enjoy it as much as I enjoyed other fantasy worlds.  Chatokkis are a result of combining all of my favourite things into one project.  I love fantasy, nature, adorable creatures, food and lately I have been learning Korean, which inspired me to get creative with Chatokkis names. “Cha” means tea and “Tokki” means bunny.

Lore

There was once a Goddess of Nature called Aiie, with her godly powers she took care of life, from the smallest to the biggest creatures and the tiniest flowers to the mightiest trees. She loved all life equally, and it loved her back which in turn gave her strength. But at some tragic moment, humankind got taken over by their own greed, they started taking more than they needed, and destroy what they started calling - lesser life. Aiie, because of her unconditional love tried to find a compromise by giving them more in the attempt of quenching their thirst, but it only made the humans more blind to the world around them, with the increased resources that Aiie mistakenly provided them, they became more powerful and started taking more and much faster. This took Aiie by surprise becoming ever so weak she was forced to leave a major portion of her power for the remaining flora and fauna that were not yet touched by humans, and leave to the unexplored oceans hoping to find a new home.

With a broken heart and teary eyes, Aiie traveled for what seemed to her like decades, until eventually she collapsed from exhaustion. With her last drops of power she raised land around herself, covering herself with a blanket of land, which instantly grew with various types of flora, in places where she raised the land geysers erupted covering the new land with a thick fog hiding the land from uninvited quests. After her final glance of what the goddess managed to create from her remaining powers she smiled and with a few tears falling she closed her eyes for the last time. Aiie’s body became indistinguishable from a simple large mountain in a heavily forested area...

The last heavy tears, while falling crystallized and hit the ground with such force that they left impaled in the ground like monoliths, leaving a crystallized memory of the beautiful Goddess of Nature Aiie...

On one night, when a Annular Eclipse came and emitted strong mythical rays on the crystals, they started melting, creating ponds of glowing light blue water. The glow seemed to bring more life to the surrounding plant life making them bloom during the night of the eclipse. This glow attracts and pulls life towards itself, making even the trees lean towards the pond. Even small amount of fog gathers around the pond and because of the emitted power the fog lets out a few drops that fall into the pond making it shine with intensity and seemingly sink to the bottom of the pond. With the end of the eclipse the shine subsides and fog scatters, all comes back to its natural rhythm.

After five summers the drops seemingly crystallized over the time cracked and shattered with a blinding light, which was the birth of the first pure Aiie’s children, now called the ChaTokki.

Once after one stormy night, something rather interesting happened, the little ChaTokki while collecting seashells on the beach, came across an unfamiliar creatures body, which turned out to be a human man, that got washed out on the shore over the night. At first the ChaTokki were scared of the new and fairly aggressive looking creature, but with little time they realised this creature was more scared of them then they were. They all became friendly really fast and started sharing knowledge without the ability to directly communicate. The human showed the ChaTokki how to use and make ropes and other equipment, and in return they showed him how to love and communicate with nature. The spirit of Aiie still residing on the island grew fond of the male human, and with time even started believing that the human race had a chance to be saved from what they have become. After long years, the human male came of age, and passed away and not for one moment did he want to leave this magnificent place. The ChaTokki were surprised that his body did not turn into a tree like theirs did, they decided that they will bury the body the same way the human showed how they did their farming and watered the grave with water from the birthing ponds, but with no effect.
On the night that the man died, The goddess of nature couldn't bare the thought of the man dying, one could even say the island fell in love with the man. SHe tried her best to keep him alive, but all humans die ans so did he. After 500 years, on an night was a Annular Eclipse and from the grave a large flower emerged, even the ChaTokkis were surprised of its magnificence, the flower quickly bloomed and  opened up revealing that in the center of the flower, a baby girl was sleeping silently.
